Apluses magnetic building blocks, explained
What are magnetic building cubes?
Magnetic building cubes are small plastic blocks with a magnet sealed into every face. Instead of pressing studs together, children simply bring two cubes close and they click into place. Apluses cubes measure about one inch on each side, which makes them easy for toddlers to grip and quick for older children to turn into detailed pixel builds, from animals and vehicles to houses and whole villages.
Why toddlers and preschoolers love them
The click is the hook. A three-year-old does not need instructions to feel two cubes pull together, and that instant success keeps them building. As skills grow, the same cubes support sorting by color, counting rows, copying patterns from the idea booklet and inventing new shapes. Parents often describe the cubes as a calm, screen-free activity that holds attention for long stretches.
Choosing the right set size
Small starter boxes of 32 to 54 cubes are perfect for travel and first towers. Playroom sets of 60 to 100 cubes let one child build complete animals and vehicles. Bundles of 100 to 200 cubes are made for siblings, play dates and classrooms, and they add more colors to work with. Because every Apluses set shares the same size, any box can be added later.
Solid colors or clear rainbow cubes?
Solid cubes come in bright primary shades, sweet candy tones and soft macaron pastels. Clear rainbow cubes have transparent shells that glow in sunlight and on light tables, and they let children see the magnet inside. Many families end up with both, since they connect to each other without any adapters.
Safe materials and easy care
Apluses cubes are made from non-toxic ABS plastic with smooth surfaces and rounded edges, and the magnets are sealed inside each shell. Wipe them with a damp cloth to clean them, store them in the included bag and check the set regularly, as you would with any toy. Adult supervision is recommended for younger builders.
A gift that keeps building
Magnetic cube sets are popular birthday, holiday and classroom gifts because they suit a wide age range and never run out of possibilities. Start with a single box, then add a bundle or a clear set when your builder is ready for bigger projects.
